The staff are friendly, the food is pretty good and there's a nice little smoking area out the side with tables and chairs you can sit at. Drink price is also pretty good. I think it was about $12 for a double Jimmy and Coke at the time of writing.

I have to be very honest and express the truth, because I have been to the Avenues Tavern a number of times, only for the benefit of friends. Each occasion that I was present at that establishment, I have had the unfortunate experience of being subjected to the arrogant, egotistical, self proclaimed God-like and delusions of grandeur, seriously puzzling, mentally disturbed and astonishingly poor attitude of a greater number of the younger male patrons and also male staff. This sort of display of one's attitude (especially the establishments staff) in front of the general public, is the reason why people tend to stay away from places such as this. In my defence, I had actually driven there on each occasion, so I didn't consume enough alcohol to render me over the legal blood alcohol content limit. To each statement claim, I obviously am not being arrogant or negatively narrow minded. On one occasion, I was sitting at a table with a friend and also a few his other friends watching the football, when a member of the staff came and promptly turned off the television. When we inquired as to the reason behind his decision for turning off the television when we were obviously watching the game, his answer was, "if you don't like it, you can go home". Shaking our heads in completely puzzled disbelief, we decided to say our goodbyes to one another and we left. Whilst I'm at it, I also have to say I have in fact unfortunately dined there as well. I ordered the rump steak, cooked medium. What I was presented with, wasn't exactly what you would call decent quality. Very tough, badly over cooked and extremely smaller, even in a cooked state, portion of meat. It was a very poor attempt indeed. I was so turned off by the quality and the state of the steak that I left it and decided to try my luck with the salad. To their credit, the salad was edible. Only just. So I hesitantly consumed a very small quantity. So above all, it is certainly advisable that you have your dining experience in another licenced venue and if you wish to partake in a social occasion with friends, another establishment would certainly be an intelligent decision. To not even make yourself present there, in any form, would be an even more intelligent decision.

Bit pricey for what it is. It's an ok tavern in the middle of nowhere.
